How to get your business recommended by ChatGPT
You cannot buy a guaranteed place in ChatGPT’s answers. You can make your business easier to understand by keeping its public information clear, correct, and consistent. Treat any one answer as a snapshot, not a permanent result.
Fix wrong details first. Complete the profiles customers use, explain your services plainly, earn genuine reviews and mentions, and check again over time. No website, listing, review, or special code can guarantee a recommendation.

Write down your business name, type, address or service area, phone, hours, website, and main services. Compare that list with your website, Google Business Profile, Bing Places, directories, and active social profiles. Fix important differences instead of creating more versions.
If the business has no website, do not invent one or paste website code somewhere else. Focus first on the public profiles and directories that truthfully represent how customers contact and visit the business.
2. Explain services in customer language
A short label such as “consulting” or “wellness” may be too vague. Explain who the service is for, what problem it addresses, where it is available, and any important eligibility or scheduling details. Use the words real customers use, while keeping claims accurate and supportable.
Clearer: “We repair residential heat pumps in Fairfax County, including emergency no-heat calls and seasonal maintenance.”
3. Help other trusted sites confirm your business
Complete business profiles, accurate directories, trade listings, local news, partner pages, and genuine customer reviews can confirm that your business exists and does what it says. Keep the facts accurate instead of copying the same marketing paragraph everywhere.
4. Write useful answers for people
If you have a website, answer questions customers ask before calling: where you work, what you offer, how long it takes, and what they should expect. Special website code can label those details, but it must match the words people can see and cannot force an AI tool to mention you.
5. Check accuracy before chasing visibility
Wrong services, hours, or locations can frustrate customers. Fix the detail in the original place where it is managed, then allow time for other sites and AI tools to update.
6. Measure a consistent question set
Choose questions a customer might ask while choosing a business. Use the same questions later so you can compare the results. A better result is encouraging, but it does not prove which change caused it.
A practical 30-day plan
- Week 1: make one correct list of business details and fix the biggest differences.
- Week 2: complete your main business profiles and trusted listings.
- Week 3: improve one important service or location page, or strengthen your profiles if you have no website.
- Week 4: ask the same questions again, check your details first, and choose the next missing item.
What not to do
- Do not buy fake reviews, made-up mentions, or copied local pages.
- Do not invent awards, statistics, locations, or customer claims.
- Do not publish many nearly identical pages with only a city name changed.
- Do not treat one answer as proof of a permanent ranking.
For website helpers: a note about special code
An llms.txt file or schema markup can organize information, but neither one is a submission form for ChatGPT and neither can guarantee a recommendation.
How NamezAI helps
NamezAI asks the same local customer questions across available AI tools. It shows whether you appear, whether your details are right, which other businesses appear, and what to fix first. The report shows what happened at that time. NamezAI does not sell placement or promise a future recommendation.
